Help & FAQ
Every question has its own link, so you can send someone straight to the answer.
I don't see any numbers. What do I do?#
Reload the tab, check that the popup switch is on, and make sure you are on a results page. The icon shows a red “!” when the extension cannot find any results.
I use Opera and it doesn't work#
Opera blocks extensions on search results pages by default. The extension warns you when this is what's happening.
- Open
opera://extensions - Go to Details on SERP Position
- Scroll to the bottom of the site list
- Turn on “Allow access to search page results”
- Reload the tab
Why doesn't page 2 start at #11?#
Because the numbering continues where the previous page ended. If page 1 had seven organic results, page 2 starts at #8. If you land directly on page 2, ten results per page are assumed until you visit page 1.
What is the “visual position”?#
The position counting the ads and Google's own blocks that sit above the result. It is what a person actually scrolls past. Turn it on in Options → SERP analysis.
Why does the export contain a Google link (/goto) instead of the URL?#
Without a session, or in incognito, Google hides the real URL behind a redirect link. The extension does not guess it and does not ask Google for it, because that would count as a click. It exports the Google link, and the summary box tells you when this happens.
Does it work on Google Shopping?#
No. Product cards have no links, so there is no URL or domain to work with.
In Google Images, why can #8 end up below #1?#
The numbers follow Google's relevance order, and the grid places the thumbnails in columns.
What is “Show 20/50/100”?#
An experimental feature, off by default. It loads the next pages of results into the page you are on, one at a time and with pauses. If Google asks for a check, it stops and offers a Retry button with a wait. It never works around Google's protections.
What data does it collect?#
How do I highlight my site or a competitor's? And how do I hide a domain?#
Options → Domains for the domains you want highlighted, in the colour you want. Options → Tools for the ones you want hidden.
Is there a keyboard shortcut?#
Alt+Shift+J jumps to the first result from your highlighted domains.
